Norwich W/F 9 Grove St 3/6/13

City of Norwich dispatched to reported structure fire in the area of Grove St and McKinley Ave. Battalion 1 on scene at 9 Grove st reporting working fire with fire through the roof. Full assignment from the City with m/a staging at fire Headquarters. On scene was Norwich Squad A, Truck 1, Engine 3, Engine 2, Battalion 1 and Mohegan Tribal Fast Team.

State of CT Mobile Communications Vehicle

Today I took a tour of one of the new MCV's the state purchased. These vehicles will be placed in each of the 5 regions for response to large incidents. This vehicles are designed for interoperability between departments. They hope to have these trucks in there new homes within a month or two.

Today the New Haven Fire Department handed out smoke detectors to fire departments from around CT with the help of Home Depot.

Gales Ferry R-21 !!!!NEW!!!! 4/12/10





In late November the Gales Ferry Fire Co. took delivery of a 2009 HME/FERRARA. This engine has a 425 HP engine, a 750 tank with a 1500 pump. It has a Foam Pro system with 50 gallons of 3/6% foam. The deck gun is a remote controlled TFT Hurricane with the Extend-A-Gun. It has a 10 Kw hydraulic generator, and a 3000 watt light tower. It was finally a nice day out to pull her out to snap a few pics. For more info feel free to ask.

Franklin Chimney Fire 4/10/09

At approx. 18:05 hours Franklin Fire Department was dispatched to 24 Hyde Park Road for a chimney fire. Car 125 had command. At 18:15 command requested one engine from Baltic Fire Department for support. Baltic ET-124 arrived to find Franklin units operating the chimney fire. Per command the Baltic engine crew to stand fast by the Franklin engine to the rear of the structure. Baltic was released by command at approx. 18:35 hours. Franklin command was terminated and units cleared the scene at approx 19:00 hours.
